2013 Crop Seeds are Ordered.

We had quite the variety of vendors to choose from this year… as we received no less than TEN catalogs in the mail. We narrowed it down to the best value which wound up being Gurney’s for the 2nd year in a row. They were offering a spend $200 get $100 OFF. All our seeds have been ordered and we added a few from the original line up that we had missed–Red Onions, White Onions & Broccoli.

We had completely forgotten about broccoli until we went grocery shopping yesterday and realized it had reached $5.00 per large crown. I didn’t pay much attention to the actual cost per pound just that the price per package seemed pretty high and the grocery store had even posted a notice apologizing for the prices due to the CRaZy California weather. We eat lots of broccoli and it does freeze well so we added it to our small personal garden patch for this year. We’ll have to see how that goes to determine if it will remain on the available crop list for 2016.
